Technical Trainer Agriculture & Turf – John Deere Apprenticeship Programme

Based at our new training site in Saxondale

Purpose of Job:

To support ProVQ’s mission “tobe externally validated and recognised as an outstanding training provider’ by Providing specialist training services to ProVQ’s customers within the agricultural industry.

The ProVQ Technical Trainer – Agriculture & Turf, is responsible for all day-to-day aspects of the delivery and assessment of training to groups of learners and, in consultation with the Centre Manager, makes decisions in relation to the needs and opportunities for each Learner within the context of provision and targeted progression opportunities.

Essential qualifications

• Appropriate occupational qualification and level of occupational competence

• Full Driving License holder

Desirable qualifications

• Teaching qualification (PTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, Cert Ed or NVQ equivalent)

• A-units or equivalent

• Relevant Health & Safety Qualification

• First Aid at Work Qualification

• Safeguarding course

Main Duties

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

· Responsible for delivering and managing all components of learner progress through to achievement of the End Point Assessment

· Developing and updating training courses

· Marking work and feeding back to learners on how improvements can be made

· Escalate any concerns with learner progression to the Centre Manager

· Liaise regularly with your line manager on learner’s progress, welfare, and health and safety issues

· Identify and report any factors that may put a learner at risk of not achieving their learning aims, using the correct paperwork and guidance notes as provided by ProVQ

· Work with Learning and Development Advisors, Technical Learner Support and Functional Skills staff to ensure that all support requirements are met for learners to achieve all their learning aims

· Maintain learner records for all learners and update reporting details

· Ensure consistency between Training Instructor records and Learner data stored in the ProVQ recording systems ensuring that it is accurate and up to date at all times

· Mentor learners

· Maintenance and development of training aids, workshop facilities and resources

· Promote efficient use of resources with particular emphasis on reducing the detrimental effects of such resource use on the environment

· Keep up to date with technical and academic knowledge

· Be committed to safeguarding and promote the welfare of all learners and staff
