Business Development Manager

ProVQ are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in expanding our market presence, driving revenue growth, and establishing strategic partnerships within the apprenticeship and adult training sector.

40 hours per week (Monday to Friday).

£38,000 – £40,000 per annum plus up to £20,000 OTE bonus.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities –

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for growth in the apprenticeship and adult training industry.
  • Analyse competitor activities and industry developments to stay ahead of market dynamics.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement effective business development strategies to achieve organizational goals and revenue targets.
  • Identify and prioritize target markets, industries, and client segments for apprenticeship and adult training programs.

Client Acquisition:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, decision-makers, and stakeholders in the industry.
  • Drive the sales process from lead generation to closure, ensuring a consistent pipeline of new business opportunities.

Partnership Development:

  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships with educational institutions, corporations, government agencies, and other relevant entities.
  • Collaborate with partners to create mutually beneficial programs and initiatives.

Proposal Development:

  • Prepare and present compelling proposals, including detailed program offerings, pricing structures, and contractual agreements.
  • Work closely with the internal team to customize solutions that meet the unique needs of clients.

Networking and Representation:

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote brand awareness and build a strong professional network.
  • Actively participate in relevant associations and forums to stay informed about industry trends.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Track and report key performance metrics, sales figures, and market trends to senior management.
  • Provide regular updates on business development activities, successes, and challenges.

Personnel Management:

  • Line manage, develop and inspire the existing apprenticeship recruitment team to deliver strategic objectives
  • Lead on quality improvement initiatives in own area of responsibility

Qualifications and Experience –


  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a business development or sales role
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a supervisory or management role
  • Have a proven track record of achieving sales targets
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficient with I.T. and office packages
  • Willing to travel and say away from home when required
  • An understanding of Equal Opportunities issues


  • Experience with adult and apprenticeship training programs
  • Knowledge of the automotive Industry
  • Knowledge of the UK education and training sector regulations
  • F.E. / H.E. qualification in Business, Marketing, Sales or related activity
  • An understanding of safeguarding/Prevent/British Values and their importance
